Idyllic is too small a word for the natural beauty of the location: the school is housed in an elegant Georgian home on the shores of Dingle Bay. Every time you look out a window at Coláiste Íde you are greeted by stunning views of sea, sky and mountains. With a total of 107 acres of land, 54 acres of which is woodland, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it is without a doubt a healthy, safe and spiritually uplifting environment for young girls to be educated.
HOW TO FIND US
By Road
The nearest main towns to Dingle are Tralee and Killarney. From Tralee you take the N86 to An Daingean – formerly known as Dingle. From Killarney take the N72 to Castlemaine where you take a left turn (signposted) onto the R561 a small scenic coastal road until you reach the town of Anauscaul where you will turn left onto the N86 which take you all the way to Dingle town. An Daingean – formerly known as Dingle – is well-signposted. When you will arrive in An Daingean and meet the first roundabout you take the first exit, follow this road along the edge of the town with the sea always on your left until you reach the next somewhat larger roundabout and again take the first exit which takes you over the bridge. Follow this road for approx two miles and you will be taking the first left turn onto a narrow road. Though it is sign-posted you might need to keep an eye out for the signs as the left turn off is surrounded by woodlands. After 500 yards take the left turn through the white entrance gates to Coláiste Íde. At this point you have entered the grounds of the school. The first right hand turn you meet leads you up to the school building where you can park and enter the school through the main door. If you are traveling from Galway or Clare it is possible to use the Killimer-Tarbert ferry to cross from County Clare into north County Kerry. Many of our Clare and Galway based parents find this a convenient way to enter Kerry. The ferry leaves County Clare from the town of Killimer on the hour and from County Kerry at Tarbert back to County Clare each half an hour. During the summer months the ferries leave every half hour from either Clare or Kerry. For further information on ferry times and costs telephone 065 9053124. Once you arrive at Tarbert in County Kerry take the N69 to Tralee and follow directions above from Tralee to Coláiste Íde.
