The way we run boarding encourages the girls to appreciate the values of a community life. It engenders team spirit, helps girls learn to accept each other’s failings and to support each other in times of difficulty. As part of their education students at Coláiste Íde learn to respect their own and other people’s property, the importance of being kind and courteous and taking responsibility for one’s own actions. In an increasingly individualistic world, these qualities will stand to our students in the future.
Students remain at the school seven-days a week usually and have scheduled weekends at home approximately every three weeks. Girls can return home every weekend with written permission from their parents, however many choose to stay and enjoy the creative programme running each weekend.
Coláiste Íde has been a boarding school since 1927 and we pride ourselves on the understanding and care of boarding students.
